Hamak Sector

Page history last edited by TimC 12 years, 1 month ago

Artemis is assigned to investigate strange tachyon readings from the gigantic Hamak Nebula. Along the way they meet Admiral Weeks, a pennypinching profiteer who wants to stay as far as possible from the front lines, and Captain Amelia Haynes, a blood-and-guts warrior who is bored with science missions and wants to prove herself in combat. But the nebula's eerie glow hides a terrible secret that could change the course of the war. There is plenty of action to keep your full crew busy as Artemis races to solve the mystery before the Torgoth flag is flying over Earth.

"Havok in the Hamak Sector"

(an adventure for Artemis 1.6)

by Mike Substelny

This mission script lets an Artemis crew experience an adventure with a real story.
It has characters, a plot with plot twists, a mystery to solve, new tactics to learn,
and a desperate battle for survival.

This script will override to difficulty setting 5.

The author recommends a full crew of six experienced players.
The Communications and Science Officers are very important and should
not be doubled up with any other role, including the Captain.
No one will be bored in the Hamak Sector!

Please turn down the music to 25% (lower if you have small speakers) so your crew can hear the audio messages.
Leave audio comms at 100%.

Artemis 1.6 allows you to rename your ship to something other than Artemis.
Note that this will not affect the audio files. The characters that populate
the Hamak Sector will always refer to your ship as Artemis.

This version includes some special effects and sound effects. It is also somewhat more
difficult with a smoother pace than the previous releases.

Good luck and have fun!

If you like "Havoc in the Hamak Sector" look for its sequel "Catch 22.1" to be released in February 2012.
