This mission is designed for use with the Game Master Console. It starts with an empty sector and three stations and relies on the Game Master to create enemies, friendly ships and other features. The Game Master can send Comms messages to the Artemis to give them missions.
The Game Master selects objects by left-clicking them, and select points in space by right-clicking on the spot. The following menu options can then be used:
Create Enemy
- Small Standard - create small enemy at selected point
- Medium Standard - create medium enemy at selected point
- Large Standard - create large enemy at selected point
- Small Skaraan- create small elite enemy at selected point
- Medium Skaraan - create medium elite enemy at selected point
- Large Skaraan - create large elite enemy at selected point
- Extras
- Minefield arc - add protective minefield arc at selected point
- Nebulas - add small circle of nebulas at selected point
- Asteroids - add small circle of asteroids at selected point
Delete
- Selected ship - delete selected object
- non-ships near - remove small circle of unnamed objects centered on selected point
Create Transport
- going north - add transport pointing north
- going east - add transport pointing east
- alien going east - add alien transport pointing east
Enemy Brain
- chase station - make selected enemy only really care about stations
- chase player - make selected enemy only really care about players
There is also the following button located below the menu, which can be used to move objects around the sector:
- Teleport Selection - teleport selected object to selected point
The "Instructions" button to the left of the menu brings up the following description of the module:
This GM mission script is designed to place one player ship and 3 bases in a sector, and then let the GM
add certain enemies and terrain.
Remember, left-click to select a ship or station, right-click to select a location in space. many of the
menu commands require you to select an object or location first.
This script was written by Thom Robertson.
The "Send Comms" button at the bottom of the screen can be used in the usual manner to send messages to the players via Comms or popups. See the Game Master page for more details.
The "module-doc.txt" file was actually written for earlier versions of Artemis and is not correct for version 2.4. No GM keys are defined by the 2.4 version of Module_3_bases. The menu will also not appear if the GM console is not connected to the server when the module is started. Since there is no way to refresh the menu, you will have to end the game, connect a GM console to the server, and start the server.
Module_3_bases prior to Artemis 2.4
If you are playing version 2.1, 2.2 or 2.3 of Artemis, the Module_3_bases script defines GM keys which can be used to control the script. You may select objects or points in the same manner as 2.4. The following GM keys can then be used:
1- create small enemy at selected point
2- create medium enemy at selected point
3- create large enemy at selected point
4- create small elite enemy at selected point
5- create medium elite enemy at selected point
