The tables on this page list the ships that are available to the players, and the allied ships that may appear to assist the player ships or serve as mission objectives. As of Artemis 2.6, player ships come in three factions, the Terran Stellar Navy, or TSN, the Ximni, and the Pirates. Other than the name, there is no strategic reason to pick one faction over the other, the enemy and allied factions will remain the same no matter which faction is chosen. The TSN do prefer warp driven starships, while the Ximni prefer jump drive, and their ships have slightly different configurations to reflect this. The Pirates actually specialize with neither warp nor jump, and there are advantages in choosing either.
Player shuttles, fighters, and other single seat craft are a special case. They are not controlled as an individual ship, they are instead piloted from a Fighter Console on the player ship. They operate independently of the home ship, but cannot operate without it.

Enemy Ships are not listed in this table. They can be found under Enemy Ship Statistics.
Base Stations are not listed in this table. They can be found under USFP Stations and Enemy Base Stations.
The Pirate faction and single seat craft are planned for release in Artemis 2.6.
Notes
- Click on the column headings to sort by that column
- All weapons fired from player torpedo tubes have a range of 5400
- Player torpedoes have a damage of 20, nukes and mines 160. EMPs do half the maximum shield strength. PShocks do 1 to shields, or 70 to hull.
- Allied ships have a hull of 70. Player ships will take the number of hits listed, regardless of damage done per hit. Single seat craft have 0 hull, and are destroyed when their shield falls. See the page on Damage for more details on hull damage and player ship hull strength.
- The damage of ally (but not player) beams is equal to the value shown in the table multiplied by the difficulty level
- Turn rate is in radians per cycle. (~1/50 second) Top speed is based on the units used in the sector, where 1.0 is 100 units per second, or 1/6 of a Light Cruiser's Warp 1.
- Player ships can appear in PvP or in scripts as enemies or additional allied ships. If they do, they will have 70 hull like other AI controlled ships.
- As of Artemis 2.4, player ships controlled by the AI have been rebalanced to do 1/12 of the damage listed in the table above, multiplied by the difficulty level. This makes them a bit weaker than enemy ships of the same class, but not overpowering as they were in 2.3 and earlier.
- AI controlled player carriers will also launch single seat craft. They will do 1/12 the damage, and have front and rear shields that regenerate, with about 1/8 the strength of the listed value.

Maybe primary beams should be the bigger range/damage beams, and secondary be the smaller range/damage, like in game it says when you pick dreadnough ship class?

Could do, but then the Kralien Dreadnought would have it's primary beam at the back, which seems a bit odd.
No strong feelings either way though - feel free to change it

What are the units for the top speeds? For that matter, what are the units of distance in artemis?

Hmmm, looking at the game manual the same figures for top speed are given with a suffix of "ls". The only thing that springs to mind is "light seconds" but that is a unit of distance.
