Deep Space Base Station
The Deep Space Base is the most common Base Station produced by the USFP. It is primarily used in defense of the sectors in the Sagittarius arm, a region of the galaxy between the USFP and the territory controlled by the Kraliens, Arvonians, and Torgoth. As these territories are much closer to the center of the galaxy than the USFP, the colonies and TSN military outposts in this region represent a buffer of safety between the USFP and potential enemies.
Although Deep Space Bases have traditionally been unarmed, the TSN rushed to arm them in the aftermath of the Kraliens' alliance with the Arvonians and Torgoth. Nearly all Deep Space Bases now carry a single beam with a 360 degree arc of fire, with a recharge rate of 6 seconds. They also carry standard shields, which also provide 360 degree protection, eliminating the need for "front" and "rear" shields.
The Deep Space Base typically carries a supply of torpedoes for resupplying starships. Their primary purpose, of course, is as refueling points for TSN ships travelling through the sector. They have a build factor of one, meaning their rate of production for torpedoes is considered the "base" to which other build factors are compared.

(There are no bases that are the equivalent of the original Deep Space Base. The 2.1 Deep Space Base has a beam, and the Civilian Base has only half the build rate. Thus, my assumption above that the TSN rushed to arm Deep Space Bases)
(Prior to Artemis 2.3, Beam damage for the Deep Space Base Station was 7-35, with damage capped at difficulty 5. Max DPS was therefore 5.83 at all difficulties from 5 to 11. The current level of damage is from Artemis 2.3)
